About Gerald Yarborough
 |
In 1978, Gerald was in the Dallas, Texas Appeals
Office of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). He had been working
as an IRS Group Manager in Nashville, Tennessee before
transferring to Dallas. Before |
| Nashville, he worked as a Revenue
Agent in Knoxville, Tennessee. Throughout these tours of duty, he realized
his heart was on the taxpayers’ side, not the government’s. |
Having been raised in a home where his dad was a small businessman in
the construction industry, it was easy for him to make the decision to
strike out on his own. Matter of fact, that’s where his passion to
help small business owners came from. He was raised in a household
where the small business, and the challenges that go along with it,
were the central part of his family’s economic wellbeing.
His first CPA firm was established in Norman, Oklahoma in 1978. The
practice flourished and the dream of helping small business owners do
a better job with their record keeping and staying out of trouble with
the IRS was truly being realized.
The firm grew rapidly until the Oil and Energy
crisis hit Oklahoma in the mid 80’s. He transferred the clients to
a staff member that worked for him at the time and moved to
Marietta, GA where there was more diversity in the economy. He
started his second CPA Firm in Marietta.
This Firm, which was founded in 1987, grew at a faster pace than the
Norman Firm. Again he was in his niche of helping small business
owners.
He made another move in 1992 to get to Charlotte (which was near
his home town of Fort Mill, SC). In Charlotte the firm again grew
rapidly. In 1993, the Firm began assisting with IRS Debt Resolution.
IRS Debt Resolution became the Firm’s main focus until June 2008. He found himself helping the same type client (the small businessman)
but in a different way. These clients had IRS troubles, not
because of their record keeping necessarily, but
because of not being able to pay the tax (either payroll tax or income
tax). Of course, recordkeeping was a problem for some because they had
failed to file returns. |
Gerald turned the IRS Debt Resolution
part of the business over to David Yarborough in June 2008. He had joined
the Firm in 1993. He grew to be an expert in IRS Debt Resolution and
even left the Firm to work as an IRS Revenue Officer in the IRS
Collection Division for a while. He came back with in-depth IRS
experience in IRS Collection Techniques. As of June 2008, David took
over the IRS Debt Resolution business
This allowed Gerald to focus on the thing he enjoys most,
concentrate on small business and individual tax preparation (current
or delinquent returns) and IRS Audits.

About Suzanna Mulhair
 |
Suzanna Mulhair grew up in NY and came to NC in
1994 to attend UNCC. She graduated in 1997 with a degree in
Accounting and starting working for Gerald in June 1997 preparing
the bookkeeping work for our small business |
| clients.
Two years later her duties were expanded to include tax return
preparation. She kept her clients in compliance with all the
required filings including payroll, property tax, and income tax
returns. |
When Gerald decided to focus more on IRS Debt resolution than tax
return preparation, Suzanna shifted gears and went in that direction
as well. She sat for and passed the required exam and became an
Enrolled Agent in 2002, a requirement to be able to represent clients
before the IRS. She learned the ins and outs of working IRS debt
resolution cases and was able to get her clients the assistance they
needed to get their back tax liabilities into a manageable position.
She also continued to prepare any delinquent tax returns that needed
to be filed in order for the IRS to work with her clients towards a
resolution.
In 2006, Suzanna was presented with the opportunity to represent her
IRS clients before the United States Tax Court. This opportunity, if
seized, would give our firm added leverage with the ability to take
the IRS to Tax Court on unresolved issues with our clients. Suzanna
seized this opportunity and became 1 of 6 people in the nation to pass
the required examination, and the only one that year to pass on the
first try. She was now a United States Tax Court Practitioner.
In 2008, when Gerald decided to turn the IRS Debt resolution part of
the business over to David, and focus more on Tax Return Preparation,
Suzanna shifted gears again and went back in that direction as well.
She now works on monthly bookkeeping, current and delinquent Corporate
and Individual tax returns, and audits with Gerald.
After 13 years together, Suzanna has become an integral part of this
company and has been a valuable asset and contributor to the many
success stories of this company.
